Join D. Aurelius Ingeniarius has he hosts six players in this epic ancient Roman political simulator, 'The Republic of Rome' by Valley Games (2009). This is Episode II of the 2022 playthrough. The second episode in the series. This game uses the v1.07 'living rules' of the Valley Games edition, inclusive of all advanced rules. It also uses select rules from the v2.16 'living rules' of the Avalon Hill edition: Exile and War Exhaustion. We are using a 'hybrid' ageing senators rule, adapted from a merge of the Avalon Hill and Valley Games rules. Our Virtual Tabletop (VTT) is the Tabletop Simulator software (through Steam) using this workshop module of the Republic of Rome as a base (with our own additions): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile... Decimus incorrectly played his veto. As per rule 2.01.5, a veto may only be cast prior or during a player's turn to vote. In this case, M. Decimus waited until near the end of voting before casting. No changes will be made to the game. II. A clarification on when the Senate Phase starts, according to rule 1.09.1, the Senate Phase begins as soon as the results of the State of the Republic speech are implemented. This is different from the session where it was articulated that the phase begins once the 3d6 dice roll is made. III. As per rule 1.09.73, bodyguard cards should be played after the roll in an assassination attempt. M. Vedia played her card early, before the role. No changes will be made to the game. IV. Not discussed in the session was the additional consequences that could have been if the assassination target had a popularity greater than 0. According to rule 1.09.74, if the faction leader of the caught assassin is found guilty, in addition to his own death, a number of Mortality Chits equal to the target’s Popularity (if positive) are drawn, and other members of the Assassin’s Faction currently in Rome whose chits are drawn are also implicated and killed. Lucky for Q. Octavius, the target of his assassination had no popularity.
