The planned bankruptcy filings of Genesis (owned by DCG) is a serious sign of slowdown in the crypto sector as Genesis is known as one of the big 5 companies in the space. A bankruptcy as this level is akin to an Amazon or Apple of the crypto sector going out of business. The DOJ arresting the crypto Founder behind Bitzlavo is a great step in the right direction for enforcement of companies that are violating AML/KYC rules. However, on the other than, the SEC itself needs to work with investors and the tech community to provide better guidance of how crypto exchanges and other instruments should be regulated.
