Escaping the City: Trail Running in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island / strava https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map... Some of the music is from Francesco Gibellini: • Claudio Monteverdi - Scherzi Musicali - Ze... Finding good trail runs around New York City isn't easy — but this one was worth the effort. In this video, I take you along for a solo adventure starting from Manhattan's Penn Station, hopping on the LIRR to Cold Spring Harbor, and discovering a surprisingly serene, runnable trail network just outside the city. After a long train ride, I began my run with a scenic view of the harbor, then headed south into a forested area filled with wide, soft, mountain bike trails — surprisingly rock-free, gently rolling, and hard to get lost in. It was quiet, runnable, and a true escape from the NYC noise. I looped back north via back roads and smaller trails, finishing with a long road stretch under the hot sun. Totally exhausted, I found salvation at a local deli (cold drinks and snacks in hand!), and managed to catch the train back to Manhattan just 10 minutes after arriving at the station — a small miracle. If you're looking for runnable, low-stress trail options within reach of NYC, this one should be on your radar. 👉 Subscribe for more NYC trail runs and hidden outdoor adventures 👉 Like the video if you enjoy off-the-beaten-path running content 👉 Comment with your favorite trail near NYC! 5Jul25, 21.5 miles #TrailRunningNYC #ColdSpringHarbor #RunningVlog #LongIslandTrails #EscapeNYC #UrbanTrailRunning #TrainToTrail #NatureRun #NYCRunner #TrailLife
