After learning that 2 former Norfolk And Western GP9s were heading to the Railroad Museum of New England, I stayed alert as I knew they would be on PL-1 to Waterbury after arriving in Plainville. They finally arrived in Plainville on July 19th after being brought down by EDPL. They didn't run on Friday's PL-1, and someone said they would most likely run on Monday's PL-1 and that the crew is usually on-duty at around 9am. After hearing that, I wanted to chase it out of Plainville and catch it at multiple locations along the Waterbury Branch (not Metro-North's owned portion of the line). I arrived in Plainville at 8am and waited for 2 hours to see if the crew would arrive. Unfortunately, the crew never showed up, so we went home. At around 1:15pm, I heard PL-1 had departed Plainville with the GP9's in the consist, so as soon as I could, I went to a location off of Thomaston Avenue to wait for it. After waiting for nearly 2 hours, PL-1 finally showed up at 3:49pm with a nice engineer and a decent sized train consisting of 24 cars (23 after the interchange with the Naugy). After seeing it at that location, we went to Highland Junction to see PL-1 interchange with the Naugatuck Railroad.
