UASIN GISHU COUNTY ASSEMBLY WANTS DIRECTIVE ON VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTERS STOPPED

There was an uproar in Uasin Gishu County Assembly when Hon David Keitany –MCA Sergoit rose on personal statement to seek answers from Leader of Government Business on why there is a directive by Department of Education to have every Vocational Training Centre in Uasin Gishu County to offer only two courses in January 2020. Hon Speaker David Kiplagat said the matter was urgent and allowed other members to contribute on the same. Chief Whip Hon. David Sing’oei said the decision will make many students to dropout since they cannot afford accommodation in new areas where there courses will be taught. Hon. Pius Kigen –MCA Tembelio said that there must be public participation as required by law before decision with far reaching impact is made. Hon Members want the CEC of Education summoned to the house and the directive vacated.
