This is a simple tutorial to show you how to sew a Gingerbread man decoration to decorate your Christmas tree. They are made out of felt, have a cute candy cane edging and are really quick and simple to make. I show you how to make a pattern as well as taking you through the step by step process to make them. You could use any colours for the edging or add buttons, or an initial before you stitch the pieces together, to create a personalised gift. To make these you will need - Some gingerbread coloured felt, embroidery threads in red and white, butchers string or similar stripy string to hang them, a needle, scissors and a small amount of stuffing or wool scraps. If you want to draw your own pattern you will need some paper, a 2p and a 5p (or a large and a small round coin of any currency!). I use a back stitch to sew the mouth and French knots for the eyes. You could also use beads, small buttons or paint.
