In this video, we spend a very hard night with an Iranian shepherd couple inside their small desert shelter. This time, it’s not a full day — it’s a long and difficult night in the heart of Iran’s desert. Sleeping inside the shelter was not easy at all. The space was very small, the fire kept smoking, and all our clothes smelled like smoke. Even though it was very warm inside the shelter, outside the cold was extreme — the sand was frozen from the cold night air. We made simple food on the fire, roasting beets and potatoes in the ashes. The shepherd’s wife even washed the dishes using hot ash, just like they have always done in nomadic life. This video shows the real side of nomad life in Iran. Hard nights, simple food, cold deserts, and a life deeply connected to nature. No luxury, no comfort — just real life in an Iranian desert shelter.
