In this video, we'll be talking about the importance of restoring ancestral lands for Indigenous peoples and the need for justice and accountability in this process. Full Disclosure: I am not a Native American. My first ancestor to be born in America wasn't until 1636 in Salem, Massachusetts, thousands of years after the Native Americans first arrived in the continent. We live in a time where many people are starting to reclaim their ancestral lands, this movement needs to continue to grow with the support of all Americans and Canadians. Native Americans and First Nations need a voice in the US Congress and Senate and a vote in the Canadian Parliament to demand that their land be restored for preservation, conservation and for future generations. If we want to have the sins of the past, sins of our fathers, absolved and not create new ones of our own, we need to restore lands, fulfill past treaties, and treat them with the dignity and respect that they deserve. As first peoples, as part of the wider tapestry of humanity. We owe it to them. We owe it to ourselves. I wouldn't want to live in an America or Canada without them. Without their culture and heritage - our heritage - or their noble spirit. Fight for what is theirs and help them to reclaim their roots! We'll shed light of an often overlooked yet pressing issue that asks why it is vital for the United States and Canada to return ancestral lands to Native Americans, Alaskan Natives, Hawaiians, and Puerto Ricans. How would you like someone to build a parking lot on the site of the Crucifixion or on the Temple Mount? Native peoples deserve their sacred lands back! We need to help them to maintain their traditions, preserving ecological balance, and fostering economic opportunities. By empowering native communities to regain control over their lands, we can forge a path towards genuine collaboration, cultural preservation, and social justice. It's past time to have an open conversation and create a better future—one that respects and values the rights of all native peoples to their ancestral lands.
