The World Health Organization has launched the Mass Casualty Management Course (MCM) to provide Ukrainian healthcare professionals with vital skills for managing emergencies involving large numbers of casualties. Frequent attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure have created an urgent need for rapid and effective medical responses. "This year, we have classified over 500 cases as mass casualty incidents. This is a prolonged emergency, and we need a system that can quickly adapt to such conditions," said Vitaliy Krylyuk, Director of the Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine in Ukraine. This in-depth training combines theoretical knowledge with practical simulations, equipping medical teams to reorganize workflows, enhance communication, and deliver timely care under resource-limited conditions. Programme graduates will serve as national trainers, traveling across Ukraine to help hospitals refine response protocols and address local challenges effectively.
