The Conductors Heart

I recently composed this song, The Conductors Heart to reflect a time of my life. Two years ago (tomorrow, December 7th) was an intense post cancer 7 hour surgery and Charles Carmickle (CC) stood by my side through it all, and as I recovered. Your kindness and friendship CC means the world to me. Two weeks after that surgery I coded in the hospital and had an emergency surgery. Throughout my cancer battle, I learned to conduct my life with peace, strength, and harmony. As I recovered at home, it became clear that while I continued to compose melodies of resilience, compassion, and unity, my partner chose a very different genre, one of conflict, discord, and avoidance. Our music no longer blends; where I seek harmony, he repeatedly played notes out of tune, even in moments when support and kindness should have been the only measures heard. I cannot change the melody he chose, but I chose not to let him drown out my peace anymore. As the conductor of my own life, I have stepped away from his discord and moved forward with my community of friends who have continued to bring harmony, humanity, healing, peace, and hope to the world. ✌️♥️🌎🎶
