Beloved, the antidote to sin, guilt, condemnation, and shame is simply this — put on Christ. Paul wrote in Galatians 3:27: “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.” To be baptized into Christ means we’ve been immersed into His very life — we are now members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. The phrase “put on” comes from the Greek word enduo, meaning “to sink into a garment, to clothe oneself, or to be endued.” In other words, to put on Christ is to clothe yourself with the consciousness of Christ in you — His righteousness, His life, and His victory. Think of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11–24). When he returned home broken and ashamed, his father didn’t lecture him or allow him to finish his rehearsed apology. The first thing the father did was command, “Bring out the best robe and put it on him.” That robe represents the robe of righteousness — the new identity we receive in Christ. Isaiah 61:10 declares: “He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness.” When you were born again, you didn’t just get forgiven — you were clothed with the very nature and identity of Christ. You became the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Your old nature passed away, and a new creation emerged (2 Corinthians 5:17). Beloved, this is how God sees you — righteous, holy, blameless, and redeemed. You are wearing Christ. So, be conscious of who you are clothed in. Let your words, actions, and attitude radiate the Christ within you. Just as people can see the garment you wear, they should see and hear Christ expressed through you. Remember, “In Him we live, and move, and have our being” (Acts 17:28). Right believing always precedes right living. You cannot live out what you do not believe. When you truly see yourself in Christ, you’ll stop seeing yourself through the lens of your failures or flesh. Like the prodigal son who “came to himself” and remembered his father’s mercy, we too must remember what God has done for us through Jesus and walk in the newness of life we’ve received. Colossians 3:10 says, “And have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him.” As you renew your mind to the truth of who Christ is in you, you begin to walk in the reality of your new identity. Paul lived so fully in this revelation that he could say, “I have wronged no man” (2 Corinthians 7:2), because he saw himself in Christ — blameless and without reproach. Beloved, your identity is not defined by your past, performance, or struggles — it’s defined by your union with Jesus. You are clothed in His righteousness. So, put on Christ daily — and walk in the victory, freedom, and joy of who you already are in Him. #grace #mercy #forgiveness #forgiven #forgivenessinchrist #relationship #christjesus #finishedwork #jesus #faith #jesuschrist #jesusdiditall #identity #identityinchrist #union #inchrist
