Make Cute Containers From Recycled Cans!!!

Make cute containers out of old recycled aluminum cans! It doesn't get any better than this! Reuse old stuff to make cute stuff - in YOUR style/design! Make an entire set to jazz up your office! I normally just make cups, but I thought I'd show you how to make lids, too. Don't buy a specific type of can opener just for this project. I purchased it from Amazon (linked below) years ago & realized it's pretty handy for this project because it doesn't leave behind sharp edges... Plus, it makes a perfect lid! Wash & dry can. Spray paint top/bottom to match paper if you wish (normally I don't). Choose your paper/pattern for the can. I recommend cardstock - It's a bit heavier than normal paper. Cut it down to size to fit the can. Larger cans need 2 sheets. You can also laminate the paper to make it last longer. This way you don't have to worry if it gets wet + you can wipe off stains. Use cabinet knobs to make handles. Plus it finishes the container nicely. However if you plan on stacking containers lids are a no-go. Last, you can glue a label holder on the can. This is especially helpful for containers with lids (because contents are hidden). Bend the label holder first to fit the shape of the can. Make sure it's even & straight, then glue it on. The label holder on my big can came out all whopped & I am pissed about it! I'd have to rip the paper to straighten it & even though I'm a perfectionist, I have limits! I've been making stuff like this since I was 20. There's something so satisfying about recycling things that were going in the trash to make something that I'll not only use, but I'll also love & adore! CONNECT WITH ME!
