Emerald Pools Trail - Zion National Park We were recently at Zion National Park for a day and decided to do two hikes; the first was Angels Landing. The second was Emerald Pools. Angels Landing was amazing and I'll leave the link to that video here: Emerald Pools has been closed for a long time. So I was pretty excited when it was finally opened. So we went and checked it out. I think the exhaustion from just having hiked Angels Landing significantly lowered our enthusiasm. Regardless, Emerald Pools was beautiful. Upper emerald pool is located in a nice grotto. If you are into canyoneering at all, you also know that this is where the infamous Heaps Canyon comes out. It was really cool to see the Heaps exit. Middle Emerald pool is more of a puddle than a pool, but it gives a great photo op where you can see a beautiful reflection of the mountains behind the pool. Lower Emerald pool definitely has the most pay off. There are a couple waterfalls that you get to walk behind. The chains, the waterfalls, the views and the pictures make this the main attraction.
