On 9 April 2026, Gray's Inn will mark 400 years since the death of Sir Francis Bacon, Viscount St Alban 1561-1626, Lord Chancellor and Master Treasurer of the inn he joined as a 15-year-old student. The inn's archivist Katherine Gwyn gives us a preview of some of the records that will be shown to visitors while the chief of staff Sam Hutchinson tells us how the inn will be remembering a man who, a man who, in his 65 years, made indelible contributions to the fields of politics, philosophy, history, law and science
