What do people think of news created by AI? According to our Digital News Report 2025 people are quite sceptical. But comfort varies according to country and the degree of AI’s involvement in the news making process. In the US and Europe less than one in five say they’re comfortable with news being produced mainly by AI. But support is higher in some countries, including India and Thailand, where there has been more experimentation with AI in newsrooms. People are generally more comfortable than not with news produced mainly by a human but with the help of AI. Co-author of the #DNR25 Amy Ross Arguedas breaks down some of these findings.
