Potash Road Adventure Motorcycle Ride - Moab, Utah

Riding Potash Road almost feels like riding on another planet. The oddly beautiful rock formations and unique landscape make you feel like your in a distance world. The beginning of Potash Road is paved as you venture out of Moab, but the route becomes especially scenic as the pavement ends and the rugged dirt road begins. When I was planning my route from Moab to Shafer Trail in Canyonlands National Park, I had no idea Potash Road would be as interesting as it was. I was thinking it would just be a good route to get to the final destination of Shafer Trail which climbs up out of the canyon to the plateau of the park. But it was so much more than I expected and truly a destination in and of itself. I hope to go back again someday to explore it more fully. You could easily spend a full day just checking out various paths that offshoot the road and hiking the trails in the area. This ride was part of my 4-day solo moto-camping trip through Colorado and Utah.
