FROM SCIENTIST TO BEAD ARTIST & BEADING TEACHER Cindy Holsclaw of San Diego planned to be a scientist working in a lab every day, analyzing molecules with a giant mass-spectrometry machine. But fate and beadwork intervened, and she became one of the leading beading designers in the United States, applying what she'd learned while earning her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology - to designing new beaded structures.
