Today, we had the honor of welcoming home one of our very own — Mr. Jimmie James, Hitchcock High School Class of 1977, and newly published author of Playing From The Rough. Growing up in the Village right here in Hitchcock, Mr. James became the first in his family to graduate from high school. His story did not stop there. After a distinguished career as a high-level executive at ExxonMobil, he set out on a personal mission — to play the top 100 golf courses in the world. His new book shares the incredible journey from small-town roots to global success, all while holding onto the values and lessons learned right here in our community. Mr. James generously gifted a copy of Playing From The Rough to every member of our senior class and shared a powerful message: Do not let anyone or anything hold you back from your dreams. Dream big — because you are capable of more than you can imagine.
