Robotic-assisted Abdominal Wall Surgery at the Wiener Privatklinik

I am very honored to be able to offer most of my surgical procedures robotic-assisted with the DaVinci system at the Wiener Privatklinik. The best way to describe robotic surgery is that there is a computer between the surgeon and the patient. But despite the telemanipulation, the system immerses the surgeon into the body and ensures a greater proximity to the surgical field. One of the biggest advantages of the DaVinci system is the improved visualization with high definition, 3-dimension of the camera helping to see vessels, nerves and structures you barely can’t see with the naked eye. Another advantage is the extreme mobility and articulation of the robotic instruments. This is associated with significantly higher degrees of freedom which enable to perform much more complex maneuvers compared to the method with straight sticks.
