Foodie's Guide to EPIC Street Food Scene in Bangkok Chinatown (2024)

Today we are checking out how authentic the Chinese street foods are in Bangkok’s famous Yaowarat Road or Chinatown. 🥢 After a combined 16 years of living and working in China, we have tasted our fair share of some amazing Chinese food from big cities to small remote towns. 🥮 Bangkok China Town or Yaowarat is one of the liveliest places in Bangkok in the evening and one of the top Bangkok tourist places. When Bangkok was set up as the capital of Thailand in the late eighteenth century, Chinese immigrants were invited by the Thai king to settle in this region. As adept merchants, the Chinese community then prospered in trade and They in fact played a major role in Yaowarat eventually becoming Bangkok’s major trading center attracting people from different countries, especially from China. Yaowarat Road and its many sub-alleys come to life after sunset with an army of roadside food stalls selling a blend of Thai, Chinese, and international dishes. Throughout the evening, we get to try a variety of different street foods, many of which we would often eat during our time in China, starting from some Dim Sum and Bao zi (包子)to some Hong Kong style noodles. We even taste some Chinese sweets such as Tang Hu Lu and You Tiao. 🥟 We truly loved our time exploring Yaowarat Road/ Chinatown in Bangkok and would say that it is definitely one of the top things to do in Bangkok.
