Youtube:    / @oldmasterpaintings   Insta:   / old.master.paintings   I started with white on a reddish brown canvas. Mostly two and sometimes three layers are applied. The colours are done in thin glazes, again two or more layers. The palette for this is simple: Lead White Yellow Ochre Red Earth Burnt Siena Umber Nature and Burnt Van Dyckbrown Roman Black Earth Natural Iron Earth This painting I started on a pre-glued canvas and applied one thick coat of a selfmade oilground. My painting medium is fast drying oil. I take selfmade blackoil or linseed oil varnish. Both let the colours dry within 1-2 days. The canvas is in originalsize 130 x 90 cm (51 x 35 in).
