NHL GAME RECAP – MARCH 14, 2026 Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Utah Mammoth Delta Center – Salt Lake City, UT FINAL SCORE Pittsburgh Penguins – 4 Utah Mammoth – 2 The Pittsburgh Penguins delivered a commanding road performance Friday night at the Delta Center, defeating the Utah Mammoth 4-2 behind a dominant second period and steady goaltending from Petr Mrazek. Utah netminder Connor Ingram faced heavy pressure all evening as Pittsburgh outshot the Mammoth 36-20, controlling possession and dictating the tempo for much of the game. FIRST PERIOD The Penguins struck first at 12:46 of the opening frame. Defenseman Matt Dumba jumped into the play and buried a shot past Ingram, assisted by Rutger McGroarty, giving Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead heading into the intermission. SECOND PERIOD The middle frame belonged entirely to Pittsburgh. At 4:53, the Penguins capitalized while shorthanded. Connor Dewar broke free and snapped home a short-handed goal, assisted by Noel Acciari and Sebastian Aho, extending the lead to 2-0. Pittsburgh continued to pour it on at 11:59 when Teddy Lizotte scored unassisted, finishing off a turnover to make it 3-0. Just under two minutes later at 13:35, Yegor Chinakhov added another, assisted by Anthony Mantha, pushing the Penguins to a commanding 4-0 advantage. THIRD PERIOD Utah showed resilience in the final frame. At 5:57, Dylan Guenther put the Mammoth on the board with a goal assisted by Logan Cooley and John Peterka. Utah cut the deficit further at 14:49 when Alex Kerfoot scored off a setup from Mikhail Sergachev and Sean Durzi, narrowing the score to 4-2. Despite the late push, Mrazek shut the door the rest of the way, securing the road victory for Pittsburgh.
