Description: In this DIY project, I take a tall IKEA chest of drawers and modify it so it no longer blocks our bedroom window. Instead of getting rid of perfectly good furniture, I show you step-by-step how to alter and resize it to fit your space. After that, I take it outside to carefully measure and cut it down to the exact size needed. Once trimmed, I drill new holes for the screws, reassemble the chest in place, and finish it off by staining the worn and cut areas with black wood stain for a polished, good-as-new look. This is a great project if you want to customize IKEA furniture to fit your home perfectly instead of buying new.
