Climbing Cloud Peak (Wyoming July 2025)

Good day everybody, welcome back to the channel. It's been awhile. In this video we'll be doing something a little bit different. We are going to attempt to climb the highest point in the Big Horn Mountains and the Cloud Peak Wilderness Area, Cloud Peak. It's a 13,200-mountain located deep in the big horns. It's going to take a combination of skills in order to have a chance of summiting. This includes camping, hiking, backpacking, route finding, high altitude and I'm sure I'm missing a few others I will be spending the first night at the West Tensleep Campground. This is a campground located very close to the West Tensleep Trailhead and should in theory make finding parking easier. We are going over Fourth of July Weekend so it can still be difficult due to how popular this trailhead is The second night our plan is to stay at Misty Moon Lake, which is located about seven miles from the trail head. Whether we attempt Cloud Peak the following day or the day after will depend entirely on how everyone is feeling. Either way I will be attempting the climb. My goal with this trip is simply to reach the highest point in the Big Horns and enjoy my time in the mountains.
