The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask is one of the few direct sequel Zelda games and one of the creepiest, most somber of entries in the series. Besides the iconic items we are familiar with in Link's inventory we also got a collection of masks for powers that enable new abilities for puzzles and affected how NPCs treat you depending on which mask you wear. In this Completionist episode I played both versions of the game; the classic ROM and the Majora's Mask 3D release. Releasing Majora's Mask on the Nintendo 3DS led to some quality of life improvements, such as displaying a map on the lower screen and the much appreciated improved time control that allows me to jump to a specific hour. AND they added what every good game needs: a fishing game! But what makes Majora's Mask truly unique is not it's masks or amazing 1 year crunch time of development, but the thematic elements of hope and sadness and how they are all part of the healing process.
