On April 8, 2011, Iraqi Qods security forces murdered 25 Iranian resistance Ashraf residents and injured 320, mowing them down with Humvees. This grassroots music video is being made public in response. Eden Foundation President, medical scientist and human rights musician, Bruce Anderson, now at www.TheVoiceofWater.com, produced and uploaded this music video in collaboration with Iran National Television, the TV network of the Iranian resistance working from Ashraf City, Iraq. This is the new rock version Bruce produced for the "Ahmadinejad Out!" rally held across from the United Nations when the illegitimate Iranian president was speaking there on 9/23/2010. Rudy Giuliani also spoke in support of Ashraf at the event. The orchestral version with Farsi subtitles was broadcast on Iran NTV in September to an estimated 15 million viewers in Iran and worldwide. Ashraf City, Iraq is a refugee community of 3,400 Iranian resistance members at risk of deportation back to Iran by the Iraqi government, where they would be at risk of imprisonment, torture and murder at the hands of the mullah regime. The lyrics are based on a speech given to the people of Ashraf City by Dr. Alejo Vidal-Quadras, European Parliament vice president from Spain, during his visit to determine and support the human rights conditions there. Bruce's comments: "I couldn't have been more inspired than to work with these kind hearted and courageous people, 'The Lions of Ashraf.' After we filmed the raw video in San Francisco and uploaded it to Ashraf, Iraq for editing, we became so close that the Iran NTV editors surprised me and included phrases from the e-mails of my hopes and dreams for the Iranian people in the video broadcast for the Iranians. In this version, I've used my own titling to educate the American people about the plight of the people of Ashraf. It's time for a revolution of international collaboration and understanding.
