In this video, I’m explaining the verb “hacer” in Spanish. The verb “hacer” means to do and to make simultaneously in Spanish. In English, we have two different verbs for this verb which actually makes learning a bit more difficult for Spanish learners who try to learn English. There’s a big difference between saying “I’m making a cake” and “I’m doing a workout.” In Spanish, you can say both phrases any way you want because “hacer” will be used in both sentences. Primarily, the verb “hacer” is useful to listen to when somebody asks you ¿Qué haces? or ¿Qué estás haciendo? Both phrases mean What do you do? Or What are you doing? “Hacer” also has an interesting usage in certain weather expressions and other actions that change meaning once hacer is plugged into their verb form. More is explained in the video. Feel free to share this video with people you know who love learning languages or with people in general. I very much appreciate the support. About me: I’m Alex, and I’m a student at UNLV. As I major in Spanish, I advance in my linguistic skills, learn new concepts, and understand how learning within languages works. I’m fluent in Russian, Hebrew, and English, and I’m learning Spanish and German. I’m simply trying to make languages seem very easy.
