A very common high intensity technique you'll come across is known as "rest pause training". There are many different ways to execute a rest pause set, but one of the simplest is to perform a given set to the point of muscular failure, rest about 10-15 seconds, perform additional reps to failure, rest again for 10-15 seconds and then finish off by going to failure once more. Another option is to use breaths instead, for example, 10-15 breaths. (This is technically known as "multi rep rest pause" and was made popular through the training method known as the "DoggCrapp workout") Is rest pause training effective for bodybuilding style workout plans? Just keep in mind that this is a very high intensity technique and is very draining on the body as a whole, so if you do employ it, you'll definitely want to use it sparingly. You can throw in the rest pause technique every now and then if you're stuck on a given exercise or just want to ramp up up the intensity for a given muscle group, but just make sure that you execute the set with textbook form and that it is done as safely as possible. Rest pausing is also very draining on the CNS as well, so you can only use it so much before burning yourself out. Rest pausing usually works best for exercises with exercises that require minimal setup so that you don't have to expend a lot of energy getting the weights into place. Exercises with minimal setup also reduce your chances of injury while using rest pause training as well.
