Silage From Grass; Collecting Free Wood For Sawmill | Riverbend Springs Farm | FS 25 | Timelapse #06

Welcome back to the Riverbend Springs Farm Timelapse. While focusing on sowing, we nearly overlooked our grass field. To address this, we head to the shop and rent equipment for mowing and baling. Opting for a narrow mower, we aim to combine two tasks in one pass—mowing and baling. After attaching the equipment to our tractor, we head to the grass field and get started. Our goal is to produce silage from the grass. Once the bales are ready, they need to be wrapped in foil to kickstart the fermentation process. Returning to the shop, we rent a bale wrapper, mount it on the front loader, and proceed to wrap the bales. Using a stacker, we collect the wrapped bales and deliver them to our yard. Meanwhile, we plan to establish a small sawmill on our property to fulfill our timber needs and possibly sell surplus materials. To gather resources, we accept a contract to cut deadwood—not for profit but to acquire the wood itself. Using a harvester provided for the job, we travel to the site and complete the task.
