Southwest Swap Meet Arlington Texas 2023

The Southwest Swap Meet 2023 was another one I was looking forward to all year. Last year it had a pretty good turnout despite the rainy weather. This time the weather forecast was great but there was only one small possible problem. The swap meet is held in walking distance from the Texas Rangers ballpark. And this year they were in the World Series. And wouldn't you know it, they finally won right as the Southwest Swap Meet was taking place. This was the Rangers' first championship and Arlington school district even cancelled school so kids could attend the Parade at around noon on Friday. Well one could only imagine the traffic in that area as somewhere between five hundred to seven hundred thousand fans showed up. Many swap meet buyers as well as some vendors chose to skip a Friday because of it. I believe some vendors skipped the meet altogether because for some its just not worth the trip amd or hassle to set up for just one day. So I did notice fewer vendors than last year. I myself decided to setup as a vendor so I arrived to the meet before the sunrise to avoid the traffic. Found a few good deals too. But Saturday was a great turnout of buyers with a few more vendors showing up as well. I found a few more deals and sold a few things to offset my spending.
