Trekking To The Highest Mountain In Bhutan: Gangkar Puensuem

A silent trekking video to the highest mountain in Bhutan, Kangkar Puensuem (7570 meters). This trek starts from a small village in Bhumthang called Nasiphel and goes all the way to basecamp, Bamurpa. We took the route over Tohleyla Pass on the return route and had planned to go to Dur Hotspring and exit from Dur village. However, We could not make it over Djuley La Pass to the hot springs as one of the horse picked up an injury the night before and we could not risk him and ourselves over the pass. So Pema and I left the pack at Tshochenchen and climb up Djuley la pass in the morning hours and returned to continue on our exit route. This is a pure wilderness trek in every sense of the word. No network from day 1 till the last day. We did not meet other trekkers apart from the locals that call this region home, herding and tending to their yaks mostly.
