The Lake Ontario Salmon Run 2025 was one wild, long journey. From the first Chinook Salmon I filmed on August 24th to Salmon Beasts still pushing upstream in late November, this year’s run told a powerful story shaped by weather, water levels, and instinct. A warm, dry start to September delayed the main push, but as temperatures cooled and water flows improved, Chinook salmon surged into tributaries across the lake. In this video, I explore seven Lake Ontario tributaries, capturing Chinook salmon battling shallow riffles, resting in deep pools, and charging through powerful currents — from snow-covered creeks at 20 Mile Creek in Jordan, Ontario, to the swirling rapids of the Niagara River Whirlpool. You’ll also learn how Chinook Salmon came to the Great Lakes, why they migrate the way they do, and how this iconic species has become a defining part of Lake Ontario every fall. For full-length videos and short reels from each location featured here, check out my YouTube channel Brad Morgan Adventures. Thanks for watching — I’ll see you on the next wild run.
