With Great Western Railway's (GWR) inevitable retirement of their Castle Set HST trains (Follow the top card for their most special unit!), ScotRail now officially is the final operator of the mighty and legendary British High Speed Train, or HST for short! Roaming the island since 1976 the train has been a staple of almost every operator throughout Great Britain for five decades now! It took the sets quite a bit before becoming part of ScotRail, only seen in Scotland through long-distance services, mostly coming all the way from London... Nowadays it's the other way around, as the final mainline intercity HSTs only operate within Scotland, and even these don't have too long left! With an assumable retirement in 1-2 years, you don't have too long left to experience them yourself! For now, enjoy this footage of the HST leaving Dundee for Aberdeen!
