Hello everyone, welcome to Consumer Unit World TV. With Fusebox recently releasing their very own Bi-Directional RCBO range and many other manufacturers producing their own, let's take a deep dive into what they are and what they do, so you can walk away from this knowing all things Bi-Directional. A Bi-Directional Device is a protective device that can protect a circuit with current flow travelling in both directions, it’s as simple as that. So to compare this with your standard RCBOs which are a unidirectional device, meaning they can only protect the electricity flow going in one direction, Bidirectional RCBOs protect the flow of going in both directions. These Bi-Directional devices are particularly effective for systems that use renewable energy such as solar panels and wind turbines where excess power can be redirected back to the national grid, as well as battery storage and EV installations where the stored power can be used in reverse to power your home in the event of a mains power cut. However, they can be used for any installation. Hopefully this clears up what they are and what they’re used for. Fusebox, Lewden and Hager each have their own Bi-Directional RCBO ranges which are available now at consumerunitworld.co.uk Music by Alisia from Pixabay
