In the first attack, the assailants targeted bus passengers after taking control of major highways in Balochistan's Gwadar district. Dawn reported the local police as saying that five people were shot dead in the attack that happened late at night. In a separate incident, at least three people died and 21 others were injured after assailants detonated an explosive device near a police vehicle in a busy market in Quetta. In another IED attack on a police vehicle in northwest Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), the police officials remained unharmed. So far, the attacks remain unclaimed.
