Figueroa Mountain Road road cycle with photography.

Figueroa Mountain is one of the must-do road rides here in Santa Barbara County. This is about a 40-mile loop with just under 5000 feet of climbing. I started in Los Olivos and did the loop counter-clockwise, climbing through Happy Canyon. As always, lot's of POV footage, descending and climbing, and for the first time, a little drone action. Los Olivos offers nice post-ride lunch and coffee options, always a bonus. There is a short stretch of gravel riding, but overall, this is a loop well-suited for a road bike. Descending is fairly bumpy, though, and I was actually happy I had 45mm tires on my bike. I was worried about heat, it is early September, but going early enough in the day helped with that.
