November 2022 update! We received the following message from the company: "With the evolution of remote simultaneous interpreting’s wide adoption during the covid pandemic period, we at Green Terp have been constantly re-inventing ourselves, and found that an all-in-one RSI platform is not relevant any more in the current context of online meetings, basically because all clients would choose their preferred mainstream meeting platforms rather than an RSI platform to have their meetings on, in order to receive simultaneous interpretation service. Given this wide acknowledgement of end clients on choosing their preferred meeting or event platforms, it is not longer in our industry's interest to keep developing the obsolete RSI platform model. The current video injection (restreaming) model of bringing primary meeting content onto an RSI platform, is seriously problematic, with critical and deadly security breaches, unacceptably long latencies, second-hand audio processing and compressions, and high failure rate. In consideration of all above factors, we decided to forgo the RSI platform technology model (GT Pro), and since Oct 2022 invented the whole new RSI 2.0 technology - True Virtual Booth (GT Booth). GT Booth has been widely tested, accepted, and loved by the clients, production agencies, event organisers, translation agencies, and interpreters - namely all the stakeholders in this ecosystem. We will continue to upgrade the experience of meeting participants and interpreters with GT Booth and its full suite of audience solutions." Original info: The Green Terp RSI platform allows interpreters to hear AND see their boothmate. The platform requires presenters to use a headset, allows up to four interpreters per booth (with a straightforward handover function that avoids confusion as to who is taking over from whom!) and provides a 360 degree solution for freelancers looking to serve their clients better.
