Two takes: 0:00 1st 3:52 2nd What is there to say? Its Ludger. He has three weapon sets; pretty much Victor without the Chromatus transformation. Sword form is basically Julius. The only big difference between them is Iron Stance, and counters; in addition to Falling Snow, he can also counter with Crimson Fury, Swift Strike, or Lunar Reflection. All four of those counters can also be used in the air. This gives him a variety of options in terms of counters, however, being REALLY familiar with Julius, I simply use the same strategy, making this form helpless for him(though I try to vary my attacks so its not pure boring to watch =0v). Guard manipulation makes him do Armor Crusher, however, Luds will throw out another attack very quick after using it. Hammer form is very resilient. He has super armor(either during or on start up) on his normals and some of his artes. I've seen him counter with Hammer Flail, Hammer Toss, Wave Smasher, Flame Tunnel, and Crushing Blow on the ground, and only Crushing Blow in the air. The benefit that Ludger has with the hammer gives is that some of the swings can hit on Luds side, so sidestepping can be a bit risky. Ideally, I approach from the air with Eagle's Rage, make him counter in the air with Crushing Blow and attack during his counter. Crushing Blow doesn't have much of an aerial hitbox, but it has great range if the opponent is on the ground, so I try to avoid that scenario by attacking from a low altitude in the air. He can be guard manipulated into doing Hungry Hunter; this can be useful as he likes to use Hammer Throw which is faster than you'd think(when you're on the receiving end anyways =0v) and makes him prime for an Eagle Rage snipe. Hungry Hunter has a wide range hitbox and has a quick animation, so its not wise to actually let him use it. Gun form is very dangerous. His bullets can shoot you halfway across the battlefield. He can also angle his normals upward, allowing him to easily hit me even when I'm really high out of his other two weapons' reach. One of the things he LOVES to do is roll roll roll, then shoot his gun; Rolling Thunder and Deadeye are on speed dial, and he'll counter with them too, along with Scatter Bolt. The worst is Migrating Sparrows, aka "the Maxwell wind bullets"; that arte is almost impossible to react to. I can dodge it if I Eagle's Rage at the right time, or are consistently sidestepping, but its not feasible to do on reaction. He can be guard manipulated into doing Blaze Bloom. This can be useful as you can dodge it with a single sidestep, and he's locked into an animation so you can get close to him. He also has Bullet Vengeance, a skill similar to Rowen's Knife Revenge that makes him shoot a bullet when he recovers from a knockdown. It can be dodged the same way, and is easy to avoid if he shoots while you're sidestepping. Also to note that this form does not have an aerial counter, so the "after-Overlimit aerial juggle" is usable here, but he does not make it easy for you to get him there. Two things to note is that (1) he has some kind of superarmor when he's recovering from knockdown or in certain instances when he's in the air. This only means he has to land before I can stagger him. Doesn't affect the strategies outside of timing. And (2) he has a low hit-to-counter threshold; in certain instances its as low as two. If I hit him once outside the "algorithm", I may throw RQs to make him counter to reset it(he must physically do the counter, not just get the counter proc). My equipment is for wind absorb, same as Shadow Milla ( Slave ), so I don't have to worry about Migrating Sparrows. It also nullifies Lunar Reflection, though I don't have too much trouble dealing with LR. My weapon has TP regen, since I'm not using the Risk Ring(I have ran out of TP in the ending stretches of the fight). Also I lowered my INT since he was really susceptible to burn; and burn takes a lot of damage from him. That's not to say I'm against inflicting ailments to win a fight, but I'd rather not rely on them if its necessary. Playlist: • Tales of Xillia 2 - Leia 2024 NO Weakness/...
