A tip-off sees me buy two Invacars. Yes, the banned Invacar! These cars were built by two companies, AC and Invacar Ltd. The specification was set by the government at the time, with the Model 70 being the result, with design input from AC. In 2003, the government banned the use of these cars, so they were rounded up and scrapped. Some escaped this fate, and hid in fields instead. Friends helped me find this stash, and even selected the cars. One is the oldest known Invacar, built in 1972. The plan? Get them home and get at least one restored. Stay tuned for more, though it might be a while until the next Invacar (or Model 70) update. With a 493cc engine, these invalid carriages are classed as Microcars (sub 701cc) - it's a Steyr-Puch aircooled flat twin from Austria!
