Oscar had the opportunity to talk with sound artist Evicshen (Victoria Shen) before her noise performance at VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art. Shen is remarkably open about her practice, providing valuable insight on her niches and the larger art world. Evicshen supplies many references and recommendations throughout the interview. In the next week, we'll do our best to compile them here in the description, in 'text'. This will be the last video I produce for WVCW, and while this is a bittersweet moment, I couldn't imagine a better video for the occasion. I learned so much in this 30 minutes that I now carry with me through all of my own sound making. I just want to say thank you to all of the staff that have helped me and the artists that have given us their time and the community members that give us a reason to continue and the viewers/listeners that imbue our coverage with their perspectives.
