The Northeastern side of Ko Lanta is covered in a lush green mangrove forest, with a host of marine and wildlife; it is the perfect escape from lazy days on the beach. The mangrove forest is a unique landscape of lush greenery, and shallow pools with all manner of crab waddling in the sediment and an abundance of bird life fishing in the shallows. There is a peaceful tranquility to the entire area and you will find a narrow concrete walkway leading into the mangrove forest. From the walkway you can see the bids, fish, craps, monkeys and other wildlife. The forest also offers kayaking or tours by longtaw boats. It is really an amazing part of this beautiful island.
