The Providence Inn Campsite Review

Visiting North Yorkshire, England, particular the North Yorkshire Moors, is always a delight and there are some fantastic places to ride and visit. On this occasion I stay at a campsite attached to The Providence Inn, a rural pub in the hamlet of Yedingham, Malton, which is also near the ancient market town of Pickering. The location has easy rides to the North Yorkshire Moors and the North Yorkshire coast. The camp site is small and comprises a camping field for tents and small vans, along with a separate hard standing area for caravan and campervans, with electric hook ups available o the hard standing area. The area is rural and the site borders the River Derwent, where fishing is available. The facilities are basic but clean and adequate for the size of site, with showers being electric and free. The pub served excellent food and draft beer, having a very relaxed and country feel to it. The nearest shops are in Malton, at 10 miles and Pickering at 8 miles, both of which are about 15 minutes away. The road to the site is directly off a tarmac road and then within the site is hard compacted gravel and grass on the camping areas.
