.........I've never owned a keyboard with octave -/+ and it didn't reset to the neutral zone when you press both buttons simultaneously... The unit shipped with errors out of the box which required a firmware update day one. I thought the update fixed the issues I was experiencing but that wasn't the case. Even on Version 1.1.0 the Modwave will sustain notes at random and doesn't reset unless you power off the keyboard. On top of this behavior, once connected via MIDI it will cause the sound generator to produce a ringing sound from the audio outputs while moderately distorting the sound until disconnected (unsynchronized) from host. I would love to say it's good but it's nothing more than a Raspberry Pi in a box. I know Korg usually puts out "toys" (junk) but this, the Wavestate, and the OPSix devices are not of the technical quality I would expect from a manufacturer such as experienced in sound as Korg. The Modwave, Wavestate, and OPsix should've been sound modules and all in the same unit since I'm willing to bet they're all identical internally. Modwave creates internal noise (phantom oscillation) while MIDI communication is active via USB. It has a USB synchronization problem, even in the latest firmware. Sound selection is terrible. Once you select a performance, let's say by type, the system reverts back to alphabetical order, and not the previous selection mode. You have to menu dive and reselect a search mode. NO OPTION FOR A PERSISTENT CATEGORY VIEW FOR SOUNDS.. Internal sound engine holds note and plays continuous sound (NOTE HOLD), while hold is deactivated. Must power cycle the keyboard, usually doesn't resolve the issue. Octave - & Octave + doesn't reset note position to NEUTRAL. What the hell is that? Furthermore, pressing Octave - or Octave + should not bring up the SYSTEM SETUP menu... Arpeggiator has no velocity parameter. Layer must be active in order to disable layer's Arpeggiator. SHIFT + ARP = No function. Arpeggiator is missing many functions. Effects are low grade and lack routing flexibility. The Modwave is a cheaply built, poorly executed imitation of Serum for 4x the price, and a tenth of the features. For $849.99, I'm most definitely not impressed with the product. Only saving grace would be an open SDK to allow those with ideas to implement features users care about because truth be told it's the best thing they've done in the past decade."
