I Got Stuck in Skyrim’s Most Hated Area

This was my first attempt at a Region Lock, and what better place to start than the Soul Cairn? It is arguably Skyrim’s most overlooked and under-utilized realm. Normally dull, drab, and a little empty, the Soul Cairn doesn’t exactly scream “best place for a challenge run.” But with a custom mod set, a rule list, and one very unusual necromancer, I asked the question: Can we make a build here, survive, and actually have fun? Short answer: yes, but with conditions. Boney Jones isn’t your average necromancer, and this isn’t your average playthrough. We’re locked inside the Soul Cairn, cut off from the rest of Skyrim, and given only 7 in-game days to escape. In this modded Region Lock, we’ll explore everything the Soul Cairn has to offer (and a whole lot more), including quests, bosses, spells, and unique challenges added by our mods.
