Modifying the Casio W800H and W96H to add the Countdown Timer Function

This is a follow-up to my In Depth Review of the Casio W800H and the Casio W96H here...    • Casio W800H and W96H In Depth Review ...   These watches are easily available and, at the time of this recording, you could find them for about $16 up to about $20. They feature regular timekeeping, an alarm which can be activated with or without a snooze, hourly signal, 24-hour stopwatch and a Dual Time mode for showing some other time zone. But these watches don't come with a Countdown Timer mode, unless you know how to open them up and "hack" the modules to make that mode available. Here's how I enabled the Countdown Timer on each of these watches. I encourage you to seek other videos where other folks show how they did it too, if you are seriously considering trying this yourself. But I should offer this WARNING: The modification I did disabled some of the guides on the LCD of the W96H watch. There are normally three abbreviations on the watch face to tell you if you've enabled the alarm, the snooze version of the alarm and/or the hourly chime. But after the modification those abbreviations were no longer visible. MEANWHILE, the W800H did not have any problems are all after I performed the modification on it. Bottom line: I recommend that you avoid this modification on the W96H watch if you want it to still look exactly as if did before any modification was performed. But if you want to try it on the W800H I have no reservations about that... EXCEPT the standard caution that you are doing this AT YOUR OWN RISK. It's not a terrible risk. The worst thing you could do is destroy a watch that only cost you $20. I hope my instructions are clear enough to help you do this if you really want to, but I cannot guarantee that I have taught you well enough. The watches in this video use module 3239 and module 3240. The modification worked best on module 3240.
