Fujinon XF 70-300mm R LM OIS WR Telephoto Zoom Long Term Review

As a fan of zoom lenses, and telephoto zooms in particular, when Fujifilm announced the XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 R LM OIS WR lens, on January 27, 2021, I placed an order with Kenmore Camera (before I worked there!) that day. I was interested in this lens for several reasons. First, was the focal length range of 70-300mm, as my previous maximum zoom lens was the XF 50-140mm f/2.8. Second, was relatively small size and weight - especially compared to the XF 50-140mm and XF 100-400mm. And third was the relative value of the $799 USD price (again compared to $1899 USD for the XF 100-400mm). I’ve had the XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 for almost three years. During that time, it almost always gets added to my camera bag - a Peak Design Everyday Sling II 10L. It’s relatively small size (5.2”, 132.5mm) and light weight (1.3 lbs, 580g) make it an easy addition to my every day gear.
