A little insight about the Melluzi and Jaundublti. The land belonged to the von Fircks family. In 1827 Karl von Fircks built a resort-house here, and the place was called Karlsbad II. Apart from the resort-house there was also a pub. The surrounding territory was occupied by fishermen's houses. In the second half of the 19th century an intensive building of summerhouses got started. Gardening, particularly growing of strawberries became popular. During World War II the resort-house burned down. In its place a park with a concert platform was formed. This was one of the first places in Latvia, where local amateur theatre performed in Latvian took place. In 1904 A.Alunans with his theatre gave performances there. The Jaundubulti graveyard has become a place of rest to many noteworthy cultural workers, among them the ballet dancer J.Grauds (1904-1978), the actress of the Dailes Theatre A.Baldone(1898-1971), and the cinema producer A. Rusteikis.
