The Mora and Jääkäripuukko knives have what's called a scandi grind. I'm sure others will agree that it's the best type of grind for wood carving and bush crafting tasks. I feel that the downside to scandi grinds is how you need to sharpen them. Be sure to look up how to properly sharpen them or you can mess up the grind. Except for the throwing knives/stars and some of the Coldsteels all the knives are made from types of high carbon steel. 1095 being the most common. The tomahawks don't get used as much as they used to since I feel that a large blade is safer to use when splitting logs. A hatchet is a better choice for camp applications compared to a tomahawk. The two rifleman hawks I own I feel are too heavy for use in a all day chopping. I want to find a handle that's twice as long to make it a more comfortable two handed axe.
