Throwback Thursday | Niki Lauda Onboard at CTMP 1976

Welcome back to Throwback Thursday! This is where we roll back in time and share historic memories from Canadian motorsport history. Todays feature, onboard with the legendary Niki Lauda at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park in his Ferrari 312T during the 1976 Canadian Grand Prix. This was Niki's second race back in the saddle since his horrific crash at the Nurburgring. He finished 8th, failing to score points, while Championship rival James Hunt won the race, closing the gap between the two to only 8 points. Hunt went on to win the next race at Watkins Glen but Lauda finished a brilliant third, meaning they would head to the final round at Suzuka separated by a mere 3 points.
