How to KNOW if your peace IS from God or your OWN feelings...

Often times we hear that if it’s from God, it should give you peace. But it’s a different kind of peace than you guys think. When we ask for something in prayer, and we get an answer that makes us feel at peace, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s from God, because you’re relying on your EMOTIONS and “FEELING” at peace to confirm that. So when does being at peace come into play? Philippians 4:6-9: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. The peace you get from God exceeds ALL understanding. If you’re able to comprehend the peace you get, it might not be from God. There’s times when God will call you to do something that’s UNCOMFORTABLE, but you’ll still feel at peace. It’s unexplainable. When Jesus was in the Mount of Olives. He was UNCOMFORTABLE and ASKED God to take His cup from Him. But afterwards He said, not my will be done but yours. This prayer of suffering was heard because His prayer was not to escape God’s will but to accept it. Don’t rely on feelings all the time when seeking God and praying. You should be humbly receiving and submitted to the will of God. Stay grounded in the principles of faith and obedience rather than emotion, and God will provide the rest, INCLUDING peace/comfort.
